  • Learning Objective #1

Student will be better able to discuss addictive habits with clients from perspective of 'common pitfalls of human condition' rather than pathological identity for life

  • Learning Objective #2

Deepen students understanding of the Yoga/Ayurveda understanding of the body's stress response according to Gunas and Doshas. Related to ACE - Adverse childhood/climate/community experiences; stress and traumatic events as well as the effects of unhealthy lifestyles and relationships over time. Understanding what aggravates and what soothes each one and how we move from one to another using Yoga and Ayurveda tools of self-care and self-understanding. Understanding what level of intervention is needed for different feeling states. Choosing practices that offer safe activation and comforting stabilization.

  • Learning Objective #3

Convey the importance of time and environment in the language common to recovery - one day at a time. Help clients clue in to imbalance and appropriate response in the moment, rather than allowing imbalance to build over a longer period of time.

Revolutionary

by Connie B.

In YoR we get to the root of the problem and address the unique constitution of the person and how to work with imbalances using this ancient medicine. I love how the mind, body, and spirit are seen as integral to the overall health and wellness of the system. REVOLUTIONARY!
